A cooperative, run by its members
Hello World DAO is a Wyoming cooperative. That word matters: it means the people who use and build it are the people who own and run it — together, as members. There are no outside owners sitting above you. The tools, the platforms, the decisions: members.
We started it because we wanted something built this way and couldn’t find it. So we built it ourselves, in the open, and you’re welcome to build it with us.
How ownership works
You become a member — not a customer, not an outside owner
When you join, you become an owner-member. As a cooperative, the value the DAO creates flows back to the members who created it — allocated as patronage, the cooperative way (under IRC Subchapter T), tied to how you take part rather than to how much money you put in.
And the circle only widens. When a whole organization joins as a partner, every one of its people becomes a member too — in their own right. It never splits into a separate class of haves and have-nots. It just grows.
We keep the full, exact rules where they belong: in the cooperative’s governing documents. Here we’re just giving you the plain-language version so the real thing makes sense when you read it.
